The legend of Eduardo

Let me introduce you to Eduardo, our Sicilian-born smuggler from the 1920s who brought the Negroni to Prohibition struck United States. As he overheard the recipe of the Negroni during one of his operations, he knew he struck gold.


Soon he turned his smuggling skills to work and made way for the Americas. What started as a single shipment to the States quickly grew into a small empire, with new recipes inspired by his travels across ports, cities, and cultures around the world. Each bottle reflects a place, a moment, and a way of enjoying life.


His name, and the Negroni, spread like wildfire throughout the continent.


You might have guessed it by now, but Eduardo isn't real (though his story is based on true events). The spirit behind him is. Our product, is inspired by my grandfather. Eduardo's Negroni is an ode to my heritage.

Craftmanship & Heritage

It starts with a classic story of Italian immigration: after World War 2, my grandfather fled poverty-stricken Italy. Trying his luck somewhere else, he ended up in Belgium, worked in the mines, saved every cent he could, met his wife (my nonna) and settled down.

By the 70s, he'd finally realized his dream and opened a small Italian restaurant in the Brussels area called Monte-Cassino. You know, the kind with red checkered tablecloths, wine bottles hanging from the ceiling, and where at the end of the evening he'd come sit with the clientele and play his accordion.All the classics were on the menu. The taste of the food would transport you right back to the Italian countryside.

And for the regulars who knew to ask? His blood orange Negroni.That drink is exactly why we're here.When he passed, we thought that recipe went with him. Loving a good Negroni ourselves, we couldn't let his version of the Negroni disappear.

So we put on our detective hats and started digging. Old photographs from the restaurant. Conversations with the elders in the family. Months of testing and tasting. And then we discovered the one thing that made his drink so popular: he'd been re-using old wine barrels to pre-batch his Negroni.Not because it was trendy at the time, but just because he had them lying around and needed a place to store his cocktails. Which turned out to be a pretty smart move at the time.

That oak aging? That's exactly what made his Negroni stand out. It rounded out the bitterness and smoothly combined the spirits with the blood orange.
